Crypto Wallets, Simply Explained

A crypto wallet lets you hold, send, and receive coins like Bitcoin and Ethereum. Think of it as your “app” for managing crypto. You control your funds with a secret called a private key (often stored as a recovery/seed phrase).

Crypto Wallets

Wallet Basics for New Users

Wallets don’t actually “hold” coins inside your phone. Coins live on a blockchain. Your wallet stores keys that let you access and move them.

Your Address

Share this (like an email for money) to receive crypto. It’s safe to share.

Private Key / Seed

A secret phrase (12–24 words). Anyone with it can control your funds. Never share it.

Self-Custody

You hold the keys, you control the coins. Back up your recovery phrase safely.

*Do a small test send the first time you move funds.

Simple Safety Checklist

These basics protect most new users.

Back Up Phrase

Write it on paper, store offline. No screenshots or cloud notes.

Verify Addresses

Send to the correct network and address type (BTC vs. ETH, etc.).

Start Small

Practice with a tiny amount to learn sending and receiving.

Lock Your Phone

Use device PIN/biometrics and enable in-app security features.

Lost recovery phrase = no access. Keep it safe and offline.

*We don’t store your keys. Only you control your wallet.
